What can I expect with Chesterfield furniture?
Chesterfield furniture remains the timeless classic and the embodiment of a time when the foundations of a British design were laid. Craftsmen would construct a hardwood frame, apply comfortable padding and upholster the suite expertly in sumptuous leather. The finishing touches would become the identifying features that contributed to the Chesterfield style attaining worldwide recognition and popularity. The backs, arm rests and often front borders were buttoned in the distinctive style; corners and the arm-faces displayed elegant close-studding. The high build quality and grade of raw materials used in the construction of Chesterfield furniture makes it not uncommon to find a used suite that is 30 years old but still in great condition.
Is leather furniture expensive?
The leather furniture we provide is no more expensive than the equivalent standard of fabric suites. In addition to being within the same price range, our leather furniture is much harder wearing, durable and likely to last than fabric furniture, making investing in a leather suite fantastic value for money.
How easy is leather to care for?
The excellent quality of leather we supply and the various treatments they undergo at manufacture makes them very resistant to typical household stains, making them easier to remove. For the long-term, taking advantage of the leather cleaning products we can supply will ensure your suite stays in fantastic condition for many years to come.
Are your new suites British made?
All of the new leather suites we offer are made in Britain by expert craftsmen who have years - and often generations - of experience behind them. The hides that dress our suites so elegantly are produced in the UK, and are usually cut and treated to 1.1mm thick. However, within our wide range of customisation options we offer different varieties of leather. Still sourced from the UK, we can offer leather 1.2mm and 1.3mm thick on certain models.
Is viewing available?
The brand new suites we offer to you are tailor made as per your instructions, restricting us stocking the items. We ensure your order is built from top to bottom with the specifications you provide on our website - please view the Customising Your Suite page for full details of all the options we offer. All of the pre-used Chesterfield furniture on offer is held in stock and ready for immediate dispatch upon purchase.
What are the shipping ETAs?
Depending on what you purchase, we aim to distribute your goods as quickly and efficiently as possible. Brand new suites have an average lead time of 4 to 6 weeks unless otherwise specified. Second hand pieces are ready for immediate dispatch and will usually be with you within 10 days. Our other household furniture will usually be with you within 10 working days, and our couriers will be in touch to inform you when the piece will be delivered.
Can I place my furniture against a radiator?
Although you can, we suggest leaving at least a 2 inch gap between your suite and the radiator to avoid unnecessary heat exposure and drying.
How will my goods arrive?
For the majority of the leather suites we offer, your order will arrive via our specialised courier, wrapped and packaged and ready for immediate placing in your home. We use the same courier to transport a range of our household items, although where appropriate some will arrive via a 3rd party courier and flat pack, ready for immediate assembly.
What can I expect from your pre-used items?
You can expect a high quality of second hand furniture with any damage, marks or areas of note fully and accurately displayed within the pictures and description. Though major flaws and imperfections will be identified, there will always be minor marks commensurate of age and usage, typically enhancing the natural beauty of aged leather. All of our pre-used items undergo a refurbishing process to ensure they reach you in the best condition possible.
Are Chesterfields hard and uncomfortable?
Chesterfield furniture can often supply a very firm sit, but the degree of firmness is dependant on the model and the seat comfort you specify. Please see the Customising Your Suite page for further details.
